Lord Dattatreya was born on the full moon of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha, according to legend. Sri Dattatreya is a very ancient incarnation that has long been revered. Dattatreya – A Universal Guru appeared during the ‘Kaliyuga’ period when humanity had deviated from its pristine state and stood on the threshold at a time when all kinds of sacraments had already taken root, and sacred souls had made a strong appeal. The salvation of humanity is advancing at a rapid pace. He came to establish “Satya” (omnipresent truth), “Tarata” (cosmic order), and “Dharma” (righteousness) (Perennial Principle).
As a result, Dattatreya Jayanti is celebrated every year on Margashirsha Purnima; it is also known as Parabrahmamurthy Sadguru, Sriguru Dev Datta, Guru Dattatreya, and Lord Datta. Lord Dattatreya was the offspring of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. They have three heads as well as six arms. It possesses the same abilities and characteristics as Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, while Sri Datta’s vehicle is a dog.
Devotees of Lord Dattatreya believe that worshipping and seeking his blessings can lead to spiritual growth, enlightenment, and liberation from the cycle of birth and death. His teachings emphasize the unity of all religions and the importance of self-realization.
