Shiva Tandava Stotram is a special song that praises Lord Shiva, who is an important god in Hinduism. It is known for its strength and impact. People believe that it was written by Ravana, a powerful demon king who deeply loved and worshipped Lord Shiva. The stotram talks about Lord Shiva’s heavenly dance called Tandava. This dance represents how the universe goes through cycles of creation, preservation, and destruction.
According to a Shiva Mahapuran legend, when Lankapit Ravana started to demonstrate his mighty strength by raising Mount Kailash in his hands and transporting him to Lanka, Lord Shiva took a position by pressing Kailash with his toe stabilized to smash his ego.
Ravana’s hand was buried beneath the mountain, and he cried out in agony, “Shankar Shankar,” which meant “sorry, sorry,” and he began praising Mahadev, who was delighted by the praise and freed Ravan’s buried hands.
Ravan’s pain was therefore relieved. Shiva Tandav Stotra is the name of this source. Bhole Baba is said to take away all one’s sufferings if one recites this hymn devoutly every day in the month of Shravan.

Origin of Shiva Tandava Stotram
Wondering about where Shiva Tandava Stotram Came From? Well, it was Ravana who wrote and sang the Shiva Tandava Stotra Lyrics in praise of Lord Shiva. The Tandava’s characteristics were first stated by Bharat Muni in the fourth chapter of the Nata Shastra. Since it is an expression of Lord Shiva’s Tandava, this writing is commonly referred to as the fifth Veda. Shiva’s Tandava is said to be embellished with 108 Karanas and 32 Anghaharas – the dance’s composite sections.
Shiva is widely regarded as the founder of the dance style, as he is said to enjoy dancing every evening. The 108 Karnas used in tandava can also be used in dance, fights, and personal combats, as well as other special movements including walking, according to Shiva.
