Meenakshi Pancharatnam: Meenakshi is a Hindu deity who is primarily adorned in the southern area of India. Goddess Meenakshi is thought to be a manifestation of Parvati, Shiva’s wife. The Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, is the most prominent temple dedicated to this deity. Meenakshi is venerated in this temple alongside her husband, Shiva, who is worshipped as Sundareswara.

A version of the Goddess Meenakshi’s narrative may be found in the Tiruvilaiyadal Puranam. After performing a large Yagna to secure an heir, a Pandya King is surprised to be given a three-year-old, three-breasted girl kid rather than the infant son he had hoped for. A voice from above declares that this is his heir and that he should raise her as if she were a son.

Goddess Madhura Meenakshi is grown up to be a mighty warrior and ascends to the throne, commanding a vast army of female warriors wielding bows, spears, and swords to conquer the realms. The Tiruvilaiyadal Puranam recounts elephants with blood-dripping tusks ripping the entrails of the clouds.
